Ford Figo, which hit the dealership in India
in 2010 for the very first time, has been one of the most successful models
from the company’s stable till date. Ford released the second generation Figo
in 2015, five years post the initial launch. The hatchback is now expecting a
face lift and the next-gen Ford Figo is expected to launch in India in the first
quarter of the coming year, 2019.
The
next-gen Ford Figo will be available in Ambient, Trend, Titanium, Titanium+,
Base and Sports variant. Among these, Ambient, Trend and Titanium and the
Titanium+ will be available with both the petrol and the diesel engine. The
Base model will feature the diesel power train only. All the variants will come
with manual transmission except the Titanium that will be available in both the
automatic as well as manual transmission.
Engine
specifications of the facelifted Ford Figo
The
face lifted Ford Figo hatchback will feature the new petrol power train under its
hood. The new 1.2-litre petrol motor from the Dragon family will replace the
Ti-VCT petrol engine that powers the current Ford Figo model. The top-end model
is also expected to derive its power from the Dragon series 1.5-litre petrol
unit.
The
second generation Figo features three engine options, the 1.2-litre petrol
engine producing 88 PS and 112 Nm, the 1.5-litre petrol engine unit generating
112 PS and 136 Nm and the 1.5-litre diesel unit offering 100 PS and 215 Nm.
The
refreshed motor in the upcoming model will be engineered in aluminium metal to
make it weigh less and will be available with new technology. The engine is
designed appropriately to help it perform better and deliver more fuel efficiency.

Next-gen
Ford Figo will feature automatic climate control, steering mounted controls,
the SYNC® voice-activated system, SYNC® AppLink ™, MyFord Dock® and FordMyKey® technology. This will help the
next-gen Ford Figo offer the most advanced and sophisticated technology
upgrades inside the vehicle. Emergency assistance, hands-free phone calls and
entertainment will awe the vehicle occupants.
Safety
The
Ford Figo India packs all its Ford Figo models with an array of modern safety
equipment to ensure maximum possible protection of the vehicle occupants while
hitting the road. Electronic brake force distribution, Electronic stability
program (ESP), Electric power-assisted steering (EPAS), Hill Launch Assist
(HLA), etc are usually available in most of the Ford Figo models seen cruising
the Indian streets.
The
2019 face lifted Ford Figo price is
expected to range between Rs 5 lakh to 7 lakh.
