The Telescopic Sight Parameters

Another point to be remembered is that higher the magnification, higher the susceptibility of shaking. The field of view also decreases with increase in magnification.
  3. The Field of View – Light plays a major role when it comes to the formation of the virtual image on the scope. The telescopic lens concentrates the light at the object and displays it on the scope screen. The field of view is very important when it comes to rifles like the sniper rifle. The measurement is generally done in radian or angle of how many degrees can be viewed.
  4. The Exit Pupil – The diameter of the exit pupil should be equal to the fully dilated iris of the human eye before taking the shot for maximum clarity and brightness on the scope. Brightness plays a key role when the shooter takes aim and is about to shoot at the target by looking through the scope.
